21 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING

Join us for a church-wide season of prayer and fasting

January 11th-31st

WE PRAY FIRST.

When there's a problem or a victory... we pray first

When we're in need or have plenty... we pray first

When decisions need to be made... we pray first

When we face temptations... we pray first

When we gather together... we pray first

All the time and in everything...

WE PRAY FIRST.

Daily Bible Reading is a massive part of hearing from god. We want to challenge you to spend time daily with HIM! DOn't know where to start? Click the picture to see a 21 day bible reading plan from the Bible app.

We also want to challenge you to try a method of bible reading called S.o.a.p.

This method helps you apply what you read to your life and pray about what God is speaking to you through his word.

Check out how to do S.O.A.P

Without prayer there is no relationship.

Prayer connects us to God. Prayer is not complicated and is the way god has given anyone to simply talk to him. You don't have to know all about the Bible or say some magic words to pray. Prayer comes from your heart.

Talk to god just like you're talking to your best friend, Be open to hearing what goD wants to speak to you, and remember that often God speaks to us with a small whisper.  NOT some audible voice saying, "thou shalt goeth and Do what I say...eth!"

Let's spend time each day simply communicating with our creator!

DOn't fill your day up so much that you don't have time for him.

PRAY FIRST.

What is fasting?

Fasting is a deliberate abstinence from physical gratification, to focus more on God.

Pray and ask god how you should fast over these 21 days.

Check out some different types of fasting here:

-Complete Fast: completely abstain from any food for a certain amount of time, only drinking water.

-Partial Fast: abstain from certain foods or food groups.

-Media Fast: unplug and pray instead of spending time on social media, TV, Etc.

-Daniel Fast: In Daniel chapter 10, we see Daniel refrain from any pleasant foods (meat, bread, and sugar) to hear from God.

A prayer notebook is an awesome way to be intentional about your time with God.

We want to encourage you to use a prayer notebook to:

Write down prayers you are praying

Write down what God speaks to you

Take sermon notes

Do your daily S.O.A.P. devotions

Write out verses that jump out to you in the Bible

We will have some River of Life prayer notebooks for sale at the church for $5, but you can also just use any notebook you already have

Alongside praying on your own, praying with others is an important practice to have in your life. We believe that it’s important for us to get together to pray for our church family members, our communities, our world and anything that we collectively feel like we should be praying about.

There are two set times a week that we will be gathering together to pray, at both our Sauk Centre and Long Prairie Campuses. We will be having Sunday Morning Prayer before our services, which will be from 8:15 to 8:35am at our Sauk Centre location and from 9:15-9:35am at our Long Prairie location. We will also be doing Sunday Night Prayer at both campuses from 6-7pm every Sunday evening.

Please join us for as many of these times as you are able. The power of prayer is real and we want to see God’s kingdom move forward.
